Occupational Therapy is an empowerment profession, helping children and persons to develop without limits, and to do their best in their occupations or academics by removing limitations such as self confidence issues, disability, psychosocial issues, and other diagnostic categories. The domains which occupational therapy touches include the physical, social, emotional, and environmental areas where barriers can occur.
Miriam’s athletic training and therapy has allowed her to consult her brother from an OT and KIN perspective into the Beijing Olympic Team for Wushu as a demonstration sport. She believes that everyone should be the best they can be and to shine despite injury, illness, or disability, because everyone has their own unique skill sets and things to offer the world and society.
