Orthopedic Rehabilitation

Our orthopedic rehabilitation program is designed to promote independence and self care following an orthopaedic injury. We customize programs that address the challenges associated with physical injuries and disability to ensure our clients can function at home, work and in the community.

Complex Injury Rehab’s experienced therapists begin by completing a comprehensive multidisciplinary assessment and then work with individuals, their families, and employers to implement a program to help improve their functional status and return to daily activities.

Our orthopaedic rehabilitation services include:

Chronic pain conditions can be debilitating and significantly impact one’s ability to engage in daily activities. Our therapists take a functional approach to treating chronic pain and will work with you to address how your chronic pain impacts your ability to participate in activities of importance to you.

With our experience in building both body and brain resilience, our therapists can design a program that safely and effectively helps you reach your rehabilitation goals and beyond. Whether you are looking to improve your range of motion, increase your strength and endurance or complete a task like climbing stairs, we can help.

Physiotherapists are primary health care professionals with a significant role in health promotion and treatment of injury and disease. They combine their in-depth knowledge of the body and how it works, with specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose and treat symptoms of illness, injury or disability.

Hand Therapy is the combined art and science of evaluating and treating conditions of the upper extremity (shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist and hand). Our hand therapy program facilitates recovery for individuals who are experiencing compromised upper extremity function following a surgery, trauma, or sports/work-related injury. Prolonged symptoms from injury can result in reduced range of motion, muscle atrophy, and prolonged pain that can negatively impact your ability to fulfill life responsibilities, compromising your enjoyment of life. Our hand and upper extremity program includes hands on treatment, home exercise prescription, and splinting/bracing as appropriate. We are also certified SAEBO training therapists that can assess and guide you through a customized rehab plan that best fit your needs.

Chiropractic care is a drug-free, non-invasive treatment supporting the body’s musculoskeletal (MSK) system and associated neurological function, primarily by providing comprehensive, evidence-informed manual therapy. As primary care practitioners, chiropractors can develop and carry out a comprehensive treatment / management plan, recommend therapeutic exercise and other non-invasive therapies, and provide nutritional, dietary and lifestyle counselling.

Neurofunctional Acupuncture is a precise treatment technique in which fine solid needles (acupuncture needles) are inserted into anatomically defined neurofunctional sites and stimulated for the therapeutic purpose of modulating abnormal activity of the neuromusculoskeletal system. Outcomes may include a reduction in pain, decreased muscle tonicity, and improved ease and quality of movement.

Yoga benefits all aspects of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being which supports a holistic, wellness-based lifestyle. Yoga therapy is a customized application of yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing a variety of health and life challenges manage their condition, reduce symptoms, increase vitality, and improve their overall physical and emotional well-being.

Mindfulness is the psychological process of purposely bringing one’s attention to experiences occurring in the present moment without judgement, which one can develop through the practice of meditation. Reducing symptoms of depression, stress, anxiety and pain management have all been shown to be associated with mindfulness training.

We facilitate return to work, sports or other activities by assessing both the injury and the required tasks of the job or activity then providing recommendations on modifications, adjustments and an implementation plan for gradual reintegration.
