Savitri graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education, major in youth ministry from Tyndale College. Savitri obtained a Child and Youth Worker diploma, graduating with Honors from George Brown College.
Savitri is experienced with working with a spectrum of age groups from children, to teenagers, to young adults, adults and seniors. Savitri specializes in Rehabilitation Support with people and their family in managing and coping with the complexities of the rehabilitation process of integrating back into family, school and community.
In her experience, she has provided support for those whom have suffered with a Traumatic & Non Traumatic Brain Injury, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, arthritis, autism, other developmental disabilities, clients with complex chronic diseases and on prolonged dependent on ventilators, tracheostomy tube care, tube feeding/medications.
Savitri has also provided rehabilitation support, care and companionship for Seniors with various difficulties such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s Disease. In working with children, Savitri has supported children with developing skills such as decision making, independence, problem solving and conflict resolution.
Savitri has also acquired other training in the following: Workplace of belonging – Diversity Workshop, Workplace Violence & Harassment, WHIMIS, Emergency First Aid/CPR, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention, Reducing the Risk of Abuse, Respect/Disrespect & Abuse, Reducing Vulnerability, Person Centered Support Workshop, ASIST – Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training Certificate, OBIA – Acquired Brain Injury Certificate, Brock University, Life Skills Certificate, George Brown College, Sexual Abuse Certificate, George Brown College and Assessment and Developing Plan of Care, Canadian Training Institute.
