Occupational Therapy Assistant
Melissa was born and raised in Toronto, ON. She holds a Fine Arts Degree from OCAD U and an OTA & PTA Diploma from Centennial College from which she graduated in 2017.
She has always expressed an interest in the arts, neuroscience and therapy; she aspires to combine her 3 passions in hopes of offering an alternative therapy treatment with the goal of rehabilitating individuals affected by physical and mental health challenges. She is a firm believer in the healing power of the art-making process. Melissa is currently enrolled in an Art Therapy Diploma program expected to begin in September 2021.
She has over 3 years of rehabilitative experience working as a PTA with the neurological population. Working closely with Bobath-trained physios, she has acquired much first hand experience and knowledge of the Bobath technique. Melissa speaks English, Spanish and basic Italian. Fun facts: She has lived and taught English to children in China, she detests mangos, loves travel and is a major foodie.
