Occupational Therapist
Emily is a registered Occupational Therapist in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists on Ontario and is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. She has completed and Bachelors of Management degree and a Masters of Clinical Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
She has over 12 years’ experience as an Occupational Therapist working across many sectors of the health care system including the auto insurance sector, community care sector, inpatient rehabilitation (orthopedics, burns, neurology, oncology and geriatrics), inpatient – general internal medicine, palliative care and complex continuing care ( Sunnybrook veterans center).
Throughout her career she has collaborated with clients, family members and interprofessional teams to enhance client engagement and functional performance of required and chosen activities of daily living. Her experience is primarily in the field of adults and older adults with a focus on functional assessment and remediation of physical, cognitive and psychosocial impairments resulting from acute and chronic medical conditions and injuries.
Her current practice include providing occupational therapy to clients in the hospital, rehabilitation and community setting providing assessments (including discharge planning assessments, home assessments, assessment of attendant care needs, and comprehensive physical, cognitive, and psychosocial assessments) and occupational therapy treatment with clients with neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries and also chronic pain.
